Description

Writing time in my classroom is my favorite time. I love watching my students as they gain confidence in their writing. I created these writing offices to help them foster more independence as they practice these skills. Students love to use them and create areas in the classroom that are just for them.

All you need to create the offices are manila folders. Glue the pages you want to use to the folders and then laminate for durability. I bought the pocket labels from the Target Dollar Spot and put one pocket on each folder after I laminated. Then each month you can change the monthly words.

Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
